Something "fishy"

First of all- THANK YOU for all your hugs, prayers and messages! Goodness it's hard to explain to people "outside" just how AWESOME this digital scrapbooking community actually is!! I'm fine today and Loryn is a lot better- she has her family with her now and is actually managing really well. I've almost finished my previews for my new kit- hahahaha- YEAH there is a new one! I eventually finished it the way I like it ( always takes me forever doesn't it-ROTF) So keep "tuned" to get a glimps tomorrow!

Colleen sent me a message and a link to a LO she had just finished and while reading her blog post she reminded me of a story that had me giggling again- Oh I needed that girlfriend- thank you! And I decided to make a Template to go with my little "tale"- hahahaha.

A few summers ago ( and it was HOT and HUMID) my nanny and I kept smelling this really wierd smell in the front of our house!! And this was the Monday- sprayed air freshner, lit candles etc but it just got worse by Tuesday! ( We had looked under and over EVERYTHING that could hide something DEAD!!) LOL, By Wednesday I was at my wits end and NOTHING was taking that smell away- by now it was sooo strong I wanted to GAG- I remembered my WONDERFUL DS and DH had gone fishing on the Saturday and phoned Hubby at work and complained like hell and asked if maybe one of their "prawns" (live) had crawled out of it's bucket and had now decided to "rot" in the garage!!( which leads into the house via a door).. he said he didn't think so, but would check that evening! OMG- they turned the garage upside down and found nothing and then hubby says that expresive F word TWICE!! So of course my son and I say WHAT!!- The stupid POOP had forgotten the fish they caught on the SAT- ON TOP OF the chest freezer in the garage in a shopping packet ( meaning to re-pack it later for freezing!!!) I mean people it's like nearly 40C in the garage- and this fish had been lying there for 4DAYS!!!!! Oh man by now I'm laughing and telling him HE has to get rid of it- AND NOT anywhere near the dustbins around the house- We have an open velt ( BUSH) in the front of the house so he decides he is going to DUMP it in the bush- Carrying the packet between 2 fingers like a real "sissy" he then starts to wind the thing up around his shoulders hoping to get the "distance" into the bush- ROTFLMAO... The rotten smelly half liquidized fish fly's out of the packet and lands in our neighbours TREE!!!!!! Now I'm laughing even harder and my son is holding his stomach as well- UM there's now a FISH in a tree stuck branches WAY up!!!! I can't help now as I'm crying! And well to finish it they stood shaking that tree until the fish fell out- because no ways in Hell was DH going to try and explain that one to the dear neighbour!

So hence here is my "Fishy Tales"- LOL.. And guess what- Hubby scrubbed down the whole freezer and NO MORE SMELL- LOL- go figure! hahahahahah

So here is the template I used for this LO-

Play with layer styles on the fish or just cut your papers as normal- but I made mine in a few minutes and being Summer for you I'm sure you will find some use for this template- LOL- hopefully not a "smelly one"-Tee hee! http://www.4shared.com/file/18793487/fdab86dc/Fish_tales_template.html Well that's all today ( should think so- I'm yabbering again-LOL) Hugs and Loves Kim

Oh Kim, you kill me, I was laughing so hard at that, then it reminded me of my own fishing story so I thought I'd share breefly. My hubby used to fish a lot, he loved it. One year on Victoria Day (its a Canadian holiday) we go fishing. Well the bobble goes down, I try to snag it but didn't do it right, and Mr. Fish got a way, lol it was a large pick and he just had to have it, wouldn't leave without it. Well we ran out of bait, thankfully, and I thought great we can go home. Oh no, back to the bait shop we go, lol. Well we return to the lake, finally it's almost pitch black, and he catches it. He reels it in and is trying to unhook it in the dark, so I go put the headlights on so he can see. Well low & behold this fish didn't want to be caught, so much so it jumped up off the ground and hit my hubby with his tail so hard in the face it knocked the hat right off his head, lmao! I'm dying now, litterly rolling lauhging. He yells, get the bat!! (small rounded stick of wood he kept in the car) and bats the fish, lol. We go home & he's so proud, decides he wants to stuff it and make a wall hanging, OMG!!! yuck! well puts it in the freezer. Well we're living with my mom at the time, and my little brother whose 11 at the time, messes around in the basement and 'accidently' unplugged the freezer and forgets to plug it back in. About 1 1/2 weeks later my mom's boyfriend goes down to the freezer to get something for diner, opens it, yells and collapses, lmao he passed out from the smell, OMG!! my hubby was furious his fish was done in and garbage, my mom & her boyfriend were furious at the smell and all the food that went bad, and my brother and I couldn't stop lauhging. Mom's boyfriend was the one who had to clean it though, that was too funny, cuz he was such a jerk

Hi Kim

I'm so happy you're feeling better. It's great that you can also laugh again today. Oooh I just wish I could see that fish fly into the tree. LOL.

Didn't want to share this yesterday as you weren't up to par, BUT WE HAD SNOW. WE HAD SNOW.

First time since 1981. It was so great. Dufus left her camera at a friend and I couldn't take photos. Can't handle photos from the silly phone.

This is a stunning template and hopefully I can actually get some pc time in tonight to play.

Liefies

I have a "stinky" story also..mine doesnt involve fish but deer meat..
we had a small freezer in the kitchen and decided to put it on the patio to have more room..at the time it only had 2 pks of deer meat in it..we get the freezer(chest type) moved and all goes well..since it was cold no one had gone to the patio.. until my GS decided he wanted to cook his deer sausage..he opened the freezer and immediately threw up on top of the deer meat..the smell hit the kitchen about that time..I gagged and ran out of the room...Josh came in and someone told him to pour vinegar in there to kill the smell..well he does..now we have the vinegar on top of the rotten deer meat and blood..OMG...My GS took a large new roll of duct tape, and using the entire roll..taped the top down...no smell with the top closed..that freezer stayed out there like that for over a year..they eventually hauled the thing off somewhere..Im sure glad it decided to go out after we got it to the patio!!Glad you and your friend are both doing better...and thanks for the great template..

Thank you for the lovely template, its a real gem.
Oh how I can relate to having a "Mystery Smell" Both my cats are indoor cats, they never go outside and I have never seen a mouse in my house but for one week I was convinced I had a dead one somewhere.Like you, I ripped the place apart looking, no luck, then out of sheer luck I dropped an earing and one of my cats chased after it & pushed it under the big rug in the family room. It was then I discovered that even though my girls don't go into the great outdoors, the great outdoors certainly comes to them. Under the rug was one very flattened and decomposing skink (lizard) and phewie....

Such a fabulous template. I think I'm going to have to use it for a layout telling the story of my little 4-year-old nephew going fishing in my pool, and I was the big fish that he was trying to catch. I looked like a beached whale, actually, but it was fun; and I'll do just about anything to hear him giggle. So glad to hear that your friend and her family are doing well.

That's a funny story, thanks so much for sharing it!!! When there's something smelly around my house it's usually a dead rat moldering up in the attic! UGH! Thanks for the fabulous template.

Try to get the smell of dead fishing worms out of your car in July!!! Back in the old days when we got married - 1965 - we only had one vehicle, so when he went fishing he took the car. The worms were in the trunk, but after they got sooooo ripe, the lid popped off and the whole car smelled, well - there's not a word to describe it!!!! Thanks for the template, Kim. Glad things are better today.

Glad to know you feel better today. :) The fish story is hilarious and really makes you laugh, unfortunately I don't have a story of that kind, but embarrassing like that one surely I will try to remember to tell, we all have a story like that, but the details of the fish tend to change. LOL

The template is great, thanks so much for sharing it. :)

Best wishes and best wishes to your friend, she needs them right now. :O)
