Freebie Friday- and ALL that Jazz

Can you believe it's Friday already-? GEEE'S!! LOL, and oh goodness schools have just closed for their June holidays! A whole month! Lord give me strength- LOL, bored teenagers in winter are really a pain in the *peep*.! hahahaha.

Well I've finished my kit stuff and it's in the store- YIPPEEEE.. I have been working on it for a while but waited till I had some e-mails from people of who's photo's I wanted to use, and yeah I'm a real fussy designer- ROTF.. OK OK SLOW- I know, I hear ya! hahahaha. So here it is- ALL THAT JAZZ
You had a sampler that matches this kit in a earlier post- thanks for my friend Jazzy's wet noodle! My CT are on a roll too- this is from Crops and It's AWESOME- actually it's STUNNING and STRIKING! Wow- it took my breath away this morning when I received it! There are 12 patterned and textured papers and 32 elements in this kit- and you know my style by now- I like a bit of "realism" in my work- so go have a LOOK.


I didn't have time to scan my pics of me in my tights and tails (ROTF) but this is my "little" sister and this kit just looked sooo right for her photo.. Something "fishy"

First of all- THANK YOU for all your hugs,prayers and messages! Goodness it's hard to explain to people "outside" just how AWESOME this digital scrapbooking community actually is!! I'm fine today and Loryn is a lot better- she has her family with her now and is actually managing really well. I've almost finished my previews for my new kit- hahahaha- YEAH there is a new one! I eventually finished it the way I like it ( always takes me forever doesn't it-ROTF) So keep "tuned" to get a glimps tomorrow!

Colleen sent me a message and a link to a LO she had just finished and while reading her blog post she reminded me of a story that had me giggling again- Oh I needed that girlfriend- thank you! And I decided to make a Template to go with my little "tale"- hahahaha.

A few summers ago ( and it was HOT and HUMID) my nanny and I kept smelling this really wierd smell in the front of our house!! And this was the Monday- sprayed air freshner, lit candles etc but it just got worse by Tuesday! ( We had looked under and over EVERYTHING that could hide something DEAD!!) LOL, By Wednesday I was at my wits end and NOTHING was taking that smell away- by now it was sooo strong I wanted to GAG- I remembered my WONDERFUL DS and DH had gone fishing on the Saturday and phoned Hubby at work and complained like hell and asked if maybe one of their "prawns" (live) had crawled out of it's bucket and had now decided to "rot" in the garage!!( which leads into the house via a door).. he said he didn't think so, but would check that evening! OMG- they turned the garage upside down and found nothing and then hubby says that expresive F word TWICE!! So of course my son and I say WHAT!!- The stupid POOP had forgotten the fish they caught on the SAT- ON TOP OF the chest freezer in the garage in a shopping packet ( meaning to re-pack it later for freezing!!!) I mean people it's like nearly 40C in the garage- and this fish had been lying there for 4DAYS!!!!! Oh man by now I'm laughing and telling him HE has to get rid of it- AND NOT anywhere near the dustbins around the house- We have an open velt ( BUSH) in the front of the house so he decides he is going to DUMP it in the bush- Carrying the packet between 2 fingers like a real "sissy" he then starts to wind the thing up around his shoulders hoping to get the "distance" into the bush- ROTFLMAO... The rotten smelly half liquidized fish fly's out of the packet and lands in our neighbours TREE!!!!!! Now I'm laughing even harder and my son is holding his stomach as well- UM there's now a FISH in a tree stuck branches WAY up!!!! I can't help now as I'm crying! And well to finish it they stood shaking that tree until the fish fell out- because no ways in Hell was DH going to try and explain that one to the dear neighbour!

So hence here is my "Fishy Tales"- LOL.. And guess what- Hubby scrubbed down the whole freezer and NO MORE SMELL- LOL- go figure! hahahahahah

Sad day

This is a short post today as I'm not very chatty.. My close friend Loryn's Mother passed away suddenly this morning. Her mom got up as usual and went to get ready for work- and passed away suddenly in the bathroom. It's a shock, and it just makes one realise just how precious each and every day is. Last chance

hee hee, does that sound bad? - actually I'm just letting you know that I have to take some stuff out of 4shared- It's FULL and I need space- LOL, so all the May freebies will be removed tomorrow- so grab them now quick if you haven't got them. Well it's Tuesday today(DUH!) but for once it's been a "normal day" -lol, for weeks now Tuesdays have been soooo upside down it's scary and well I suppose I better "touch wood" quick- but hell it's been nice and quiet! LOL. Are there any other "superstitious" people out there-LOL, I was brought up with a Mom who never walked under ladders, threw spilt salt over her left shoulder etc etc and I'm afraid I do the same-hahahaha. I even went as far as telling hubby NEVER to buy me pearls! My mom always said that if you want pearls buy them yourself as from your partner they bring tears! I tell you she did and it stuck in my head! And now I'd rather walk a mile around a ladder that under it- ROTF... stupid to most but man it's funny how things just get stuck in that little thing called a brain and it just won't let go!

Jazzy sent me a new LO she did yesterday with my new Bygone Elegance Overlays (still on sale)

Man this woman has some AWESOME photo's- This one was dated 1900!! It's a cousin in her family tree- but just look at that bonnet! Jazz used my Bygone kit with this LO too. Great job!

Renee sent me this too- WOW WOW WOW, she used my funky floral overlays and made it gold embossed , just so many options to play with. It looks AWESOME, and both these packs come with a Commercial license. Well I told you I was playing this weekend and made some "flutters" in the same style of the "faded bloom"- yeah they are slightly different but that's why I like to play- tee hee.

Bright enough? LOL, actually they are a deep magenta and a deep purple- Today you get the purple set- 2 papers, 1 flutter and a swirly. I will put the pink one here tomorrow.
And Candy- LOL, don't worry girl I bought something a few days ago- wanted to use it last night and for the life of me I couldn't find it- so had to go back to the store to look up my history and then only after I waited for ages for it to download again did I find it 10 minutes later!!! Faded and worn

LOL- ok ok, that's the title of your freebie today, but I feel a bit like that sometimes- hahahahaLOL. I had a wonderful quiet weekend for a change- yup even stayed at home on Friday night- well it wasn't the plan at the time, I fell asleep on the couch waiting for Hubby to finish showering- ROTF- HOW BAD IS THAT(Stop laughing Renee!).. hahaha. Well to be very honest we had been at the pub down the road with friends after work in the afternoon so I had already had a few and then I relaxed when we got home and it was- "goodnight"...LOL. Hubby kindly just put a blanket on me and called the friends to say we weren't coming.. I woke up Saturday morning like the energizer Bunny- LOL LOL. Full of energy and no hangover! LOL LOL. And on Saturday we lost the rugby!!(*sniff sniff*) so no celebrating after that game! Lots of moans and "couch coaches" but no celebrating-lol. So it was a rest for me which has been great!!

Thanks sooo much for all the comments and reply's again- to all of you, I don't think I have EVER had so many "TY's" at 4 shared before! Big MWAH'a again!! Oh my goodness, Thanks sooo much for all the comments and thank you's again!!! And let me tell you- ALL OF YOU make up for all those that are "either too lazy or just plain rude" not to say Thanks!! You do, honestly.. MWAH MWAH ( that's kisses for those not in the know-LOL)..hubby being one of them- ROTFLMAO- he always comes home and say'- Kim what where you "trying" to type?? It doesn't make sense- hahahaha, well he knows now that it is all "shorthand" but still ask's me "what it means"- and on the Hubby story- I had the biggest laugh I've had all week! These are some "Vintage Style" overlays with grungy borders, old writting, swirls and deco. I adapted some from my Bygone kit as I couldn't find any that I really liked at the time- so these are the result. Perfect for ANY vintage,heritage paper! Here is the Freebie for today- and yup it goes with the pack above

It's a "simple" overlay but there is sooo much you can do with this! Use a fill and "cut" it to the overlay for whatever colour you would like ( as above) or play with your blend modes and opacity's for a completly different look.! I've added in the two papers too and these come with "rust" spots to make them authentic.. OMG- and all that Jazz

OMG, GEE's, CRIKEY, HOLEY CAMOLY..LOL, Ok Muka I am trying to keep it PG..LOL, But I am DUMBSTRUCK and HUMBLED!! I honestly am- when the messages started coming in I got a LUMP so big it was scary!! Hubby wanted to know what was wrong and I couldn't speak! I THANK YOU ALL from the bottom of my heart and of course everywhere else too!! I will pass on ALL these comments to my WONDERFUL fellow designers and sisters at DSO!!! And you know all I kept thinking was "Jazz Jazz Jazz- what have you made me do"- maybe I should have taken the WHACK from that wet noodle instead!- LOL LOL- But I tell you people I thank her for standing up for all of US- THANK YOU JAZZ - Love you girl!!

And well don't you just feel a song coming on when you read that- I did I tell you- "and all that Jazz"...hahahaha, yeah that good old "Musical" that UM - heres a big *blush blush* (yup I do that now and again!!hahahaha) I did when I was in Matric( or Grade 12) and we had a talent show(made my "troupe" the opening act)- hahahaha- stop laughing!! We did the whole cabaret in leotard, fishnet tights, tails, top hat and HIGH HEELS!!- For goodness sakes- who in their right mind does a cabaret in stiletto's!!! My poor headmaster at the time was sitting in the front row and he NEVER looked up once- ROTFLMAO- honest, he just couldn't believe we would "parade in such a little clothing"- DUH- it was the early 80's for goodness sake-LOL LOL!! It's a miracle I never landing in his lap I was giggling so much because I never could balance so well on those "pointy torture devices" called shoes! hahahahaha.

Ok- I'm allowed one serious post a month- LOL, And honestly it's all because I'm scared of "that wet noodle Jazz"- hahahaha. Ok, Jazz my dear friend and CT team leader left this comment on my blog and left it with a "threat"-LOL, so I am going to do what she say's- as there is something that "I want to discuss" that matches the topic Jazz has brought up.

Now I know I've had this discussion before ( Yeah- my "blip" on the radar-LOL) and to be honest I have really come to terms with it.. ( amount of comments to downloads.) But what I haven't are the mails some of my fellow DSO designers have had about the FREEBIE WAR ( which I promise- has lifted spirits , broken "designer blocks" and brought a team closer together!) about WHY we are doing this and that it's just for MONEY!! Hell, if we wanted to make money we wouldn't give out freebies! Imagine NO FREEBIES at all from ANY designer? Yes there would be a BIG raise in sales, and a big rise in PIRACY too ( which I DETEST!) If you would like to read up on the WHOLE story please visit Lexi's blog .

And that brings me to why I do it-

1- I'm new in this HUGE digital designing land!! And I know that I don't buy products from someone if I don't know their "standards or quality"- ( this is me remember - I'm fussy LOL) so the only way I get to know a designers work is by "trying before I buy"- hence the freebie!

2- Most times the freebie you get is the result of me "playing" and learning and with that comes new ideas and that in turn makes for a new kit... etc etc etc! But MOST of ALL-It's because when I started digi and fell in LOVE with it- it was designers like us that "gave away freebies" that helped me "grow and learn" and have things to use before I thought I was GOOD enough to go and spend money on my hobby!

3-and to get your feedback- you are the ones that are going to use it and well those comments that say _ I LOVE the colours on this, or I loved that flower- etc etc gives me the confidence in what I am making!

4- Well because I love too!

Phew- if you have read through all that -KUDO's to you! LOL- but I had to stand up for my "fellow designers" and I THANK ALL OF YOU that take the few seconds to leave me a comment! I love you guys!!!!! I've made some AWESOME friends through my "little" blog and my "learning and designing" and well I just want to say -I wouldn't have met ANY of you if it hadn't been for all those FREEBIES out there that got me started. Another first

I hope everyone had a GREAT weekend? Mine went off like I thought it would-LOL, yeah I had a nasty "headache" yesterday.. all due to a VERY stressful game of rugby..hahahaha, honest, at one stage I thought we weren't going to win- but the "boys in green" pulled it back and we won!!!! My poor dad was sitting next to me during the game and he is slightly deaf as it is- well I'm sure he needs to go have that "hearing aid" re-programmed-LOL LOL, I think I "blew" what little hearing he has left out the window! Sorry Dad-LOL. So before I fill this whole post with all their names- please look on the right hand side of my blog for ALL the blog links(DSO Designers)- THEY ALL HAVE FREEBIES- and a lot of "jesting and ribbing"!! LOL.. Ok as I said yesterday I was tagged by one of my 'faithfull' blog readers LN , and according to the rules I have to tag 7 other people and tell you 7 things about me that you don't know- hahaha-( and that is??? I blab so much here I think you all know me quite well?....LOL LOL) but here goes.

1. I used to weigh just on 98kg( I think that is 215lb), and now weigh 58kg (127lb).Went on a diet programme after I couldn't find a decent pair of jeans to wear! LOL.. said enough and did it in 4 months. That was 3 years ago and I've kept it off.

2. I'm stubborn- LOL LOL hahahaha

3. I volunteer at out Local Goverment Hospital and have done for 5 years

4. I'm a qualified Textile designer(um that's when you used paper and pencils mind you!LOL)

5. I LOVE anything SALTY- crisps, crackers etc- and only eat chocolate occasionally (sad I know)...hahahaha

6. I'm a speed freak- the faster the better-LOL LOL- I think you would call me an "adrenalin junky"

7. I married my "childhood" sweetheart- we have been HAPPILY married for 18 years!!

Ok I think that's a "little" bit of extra info- the I love to LAUGH, TALK and Party is what you all know already! Just like the LO above-(poor Hubby looks like he is shock-I grabbed his "tush" the same time the photo was taken LOL LOL LOL.) This is a QP freebie from Bunny's blog (part of the WAR) and I LOVED it- so I thought I would do a LO of what my friends "tell me I AM"- AN ANGEL WITH HORNS-LOL LOL. HAHAHAHA- oh I had so much fun leaving messages on my "fellow designers" blogs last night- And to top it off- our other designers decided we can't have all the fun so they joined in to- LOL, there is "tons of ragging and teasing" going on at the moment- but it has been soooo goood for the "moral and togetherness" for our team! Bunny got a few e-mails with people worried that this was "real"- I promise it's not!-So don't panic if you see any "ripping off" between us- honestly- it's just in a "good friendly manner"! Dorothy even made a poster!! You have to see this- I CRACKED UP!LOL LOL- AWESOME stuff, and well to be honest I didn't have a freebie for you today as I was just going to have a "show" day with some LO's- but NOW-humf-can't let them get the better of me-lol lol, OK you are the ones that are "winning" here but we are really having so much fun! You better check out Terrian too- she jumped in last night, Cheryl and Lani (Jovi-girl) and Joy posted late 'my time' last night and all sent an e-mail to say- ne ner ne ner! LOL.... Oh goodness- ALL the links to the DSO blog's are on the right under my profile- and if you keep opening them you will be "rewarded" with great Freebs from ALL of them!!! It's like Christmas-OK isn't there one in June or July?? LOL. hahahahaLOL- did the title scare you- LOL, Don't let it- I promise this is only to your benefit!! LOL- and well "a lot of ego's"-hahahaha!! You know that I use Scrapbook max for "putting together" my LO's ( do my editing and designing in photo shop) but DSO has become an "affiliate" to SBM and now sells this extremely easy to use software(cheap too) in the store- and that is where this story begins! LOL- Bunny (aka the BOSS) wanted to know what she was selling so she "started" playing with it and of course put up the "results" as freebies on the SBM forums- not to be outdone "Lexi"(Pao Java) who was also busy "learning" did the same- and OH MY GOODNESS- Now it's "OH NO YOU DON"T- and I can do more than you-!!!!"( How does that song go- anything you can do I can do better?....hahaha- giving away my age again!) There is now a "WAR" ( a friendly one...lol) to see who can produce the most and best freebies- CAN YOU BELIEVE THIS ONE-LOL LOL - honest! And if you think "the rest" of us "lil ol" designers are going to let you two take the "cake"- (um which I hope is part of the prize for the winner????) hahahahahahaLOL- you must be mistaken! Monday-Tuesday???

Oh my goodness- I think I called my last "Tuesday" post "Topsy Turvey Tuesday"- but I'm telling you- Tuesdays are now becoming my "Monday's"...LOL! I swear- it's the day the phone rings off the hook and people "just pop in" for coffee-( which I LOVE), we run out of "sugar or coffee" or something...LOL- Oh well, a bit of "chaos" on a Tuesday is not a bad thing...hahahahaha! I've got my hands full trying to get out an order for Christmas decorations-( yeah I know- LOL, I also said- WHAT- Now?) but it's a Christmas shop and they do sell all year round- but oh man I have to tear my self away from "photoshop" and my PC to get there!!! LOL- it's fine painting in acrylics - and I just haven't found the "inspiration" to get too it! LOL.. but I've been painting my A$$ off the last couple of nights and it's "eventually" getting there..hahaha. I've had two LO's from my Bygone kit I would like to show you- They are from my CT and man I LOVE THEM BOTH!!! Gee's these girls really surprise me everytime they send me one they have finished! How Stunning is this! Renee has a style all of her own and this looks just AWESOME! This is from Jazz- and I have to call her the "heritage PRO"- she has a treasure trove of old photo's- just look at this stunning pic and that huge bouquet! Stunning girls- Thank you!

Well here in SA it is Fathers day on Sunday- and I've made a "little kit" that I have devided up for you again!-LOL, I was begged by my CT who have boy's for something "manly" or "boyish" so this is a "little Sampler"... Jazzy- it's all yours! LOL.. I called it "My Guy" because I'm actually using it for a "pressie" for well- My guy-LOL, naming it "Wayne" just didn't sound right! What a weekend! For one that "was" planned to be quiet, it never landed up like that...LOL, Hubby and I decided to go to our "local Casino" for a quiet evening(which we do about once a month)- and well I landed up winning a bit of "loot"- hahaha, I did, I tell you- and of course it was a couple of glasses of wine to celebrate and our friends kept phoning to find out where we were hiding..(lol). Oh to cut the story short- we felt really "brave" after the few glasses and landed up joining a bunch of nearly 15 people at a pup.. and well you know how long it takes as you get older for the "after effects" to wear off!! LOL. But we had a great time, and it's always the "unplanned" ones that seem to be the most fun! To top it all we won the rugby again but this time I watched it "quietly" at home...LOL. One night in the weekend is enough for me!

Ok- my car went in this morning...LOL, on the CORRECT day! And poor Hubby was teased by both my DS and myslelf last night...hahaha, OH heavens but NANCY- you had me in stitches girl!!!! LOL, THANK GOODNESS your DH saw the funny side too- hahahahahahLOL, Guys you HAVE to read Nancy's story in my "comment box" from yesterday- it will cheer you up!!! Thank goodness there are more of us out there-LOL. Now I sound like I'm in a Star Wars movie-hahahahaha!

There are 8 PNG files in this set of large sashes, folds, double ties and different textures. Today's freebie has been on my "request" list for a while and it's for a VERY special Lady named Melinda- This wonderful person bought my "Precious Angel Memories kits" so that she could make a "memorial page"for parents who have"Angel babies"( thanks soooo much for asking my permission to do this Melinda).. and she has an "Angel Baby" of her own named "Belle"- and as the name so say's - Melinda has battled to find anything with "Bluebells" and asked if I could help find her a few things for "her own Angels album"- Melinda- I hope these will come in handy and that you will have a few things now to use for your OWN album.. I'm not the only one

LOL LOL- I'm not the only "blonde" in our house... ta da na na na naah! HAHAHAHA, Oh I have to tell you.., our new car has had a "fault" with the dash (it's 'pocking") and the supplier has got the go ahead to replace it for us with a new dash- we made the "appointment" to take it in last month but then forgot...OOOOPS, so phoned and apologised and made a new one! Last night my DH reminded me that he has to take the car this morning- spent a few minutes taking all my "junk" out (LOL) and left in MY car... had to go through all of towns traffic to get it to the "shop" and then finds out that ACTUALLY it's only booked in for TOMORROW!!!! hahahaha,LOL.. Seriously this was SOOO funny to me, as he was moaning about the traffic etc etc and well it is something I WOULD do- except I would be there a day late!!! LOL.. So he has to do it all tomorrow again- but I don't think we will forget this time....LOL!! Oh well, so you see- you don't have to be "blonde" to be "blonde"...hahahahahaha.

On another note- have you guys seen the MEGA kit over at DSO? Topsey Turvey Tuesday

hahahahaha, LOL, it is I tell you- one of those day's when you have planned everything for the day and haven't managed to get to ANY of them as the phone's been ringing- my son forgot his "cricket clothes" at home and phoned in a panic(for a photo at school mind you!)- so I had to find them first of all (EEEEK, I don't want to do that in a hurry again...LOL) he is sooooo much a typical teenage boy that his clothes cupboard looks like a "hornets nest" or even worse than that!!!! I pull everything out every two months or so and dump it on his bed and make him " sort it out"... but oh I haven't for a while but trust me- it's all on his bed today-...LOL, nice surprize for him when he gets home! My father in law also popped in for a "quick" cup of coffee.. and even better- my sister (middle one) phoned to tell me she was pregnant!!! I'm going to be an AUNTY!!!!! Yippee, I am SOOOOO excited about the news!! I've been waiting forever for my sisters to "get the broody" feeling..LOL, OK, my "little sister" has just got married so I will give her some slack...hahahaha! The Baby is due in January and I have already been told I have to make my way to Dullstroom to help out the first few weeks!! Oh I can't wait!! LOL.

Well besides the upside down morning(which really wasn't that bad...LOL) I really have to thank you for buying my kit- People are actually buying my stuff-LOL-I'm still so shocked when I get a mail saying that it has been bought... Monday-AGAIN

EEEH, man this weekend flew past- it's Monday AGAIN already...LOL. I really have to learn that tequila is EVIL stuff..(thanks Renee..lol).. Rugby on Saturday was a whole day and night affair with a ton of friends.. Hubby even went out and bought a "SA rugby flag" to hang on a pole in the garden.....LOL, thank goodness we won...LOL. It hung there until last night! Yesterday we spent at my dad's, it was sooo nice. Hubby and my dad cooked a huge roast lunch(heehee, yup the men in my family love to cook) while my sister and I scrounged through all the cupboards for old photo's and some "treasures" that we knew were "hidden" away in boxes. What a great time to go through all the "ancestors" and who they were, what they did and um what you don't really want other's to know...HAHAHA( don't we all have those in the closet somewhere).. We ate far tooo much, laughed and talked toooo much ( which is sooo the usual) and came home "tired old farts"...LOL.. I hope your weekend was a good one too.
