What a Wednesday..

LOL- I've been playing Mom's Taxi this morning again and taking kids fishing! Well I suppose you wouldn't call them "kids" anymore- more like "young men"- LOL. I still get a fright when they talk in the house now as their voices have "broken" and OH my word- when I'm busy here in the office and I hear these DEEP voices in the house - My hair stands on end and I go cold to my feet- LOL, Just not used to it yet and sounds like a whole lot of strange men talking in my house! LOL. Thank goodness they go back to school on Monday and I can retire the TAXI for the mornings anyway- hahahahaha.

Miss Rose, Gloria - the first part too the overlay Tutorial's are here- (and for all you that only found part2 yesterday and would like to see part one.) Thanks sooo much for all the comments- I was really worried I would confuse everyone! ROTF!! And Olga- oh man you are SOOO right! I think by the time I see the hairdresser on Thursday the horns have subsided! hahahahaha, It's always the weekend that brings them out! hahahaha! Silvia - find those glasses girl! ROTF.

Ok I did a LO last night as I was scanning some more of my Dads photo's- and I just HAD to use this one!! It's of my Aunt- taken in the early 60's- but oh goodness just check out that BEE-HIVE!!! You could catch fly's and a shit load of other things in there!! ROTFLMAO!! I know there are a few of you out there that had hairdo's like this- Just HOW LONG did it take you to tease all of that and to put it on top of your head??? I would really LOVE to know- and UMM could you balance???

Honestly though- it was such a beautiful photo- I didn't even retouch it! I liked all the scratches and the discoloured border. I did try to "fix" it- but then left it as it sort of lost it's "charm". I used my Bygone kit for all the elements, My Big ties and Knots for the sash(commercial use ok), and the Bygone elegance overlays on the background paper. And I liked how the LO came out so I turned it into a TEMPLATE for you to play with! -

And I have included the Word Art in it too- Great for a heritage LO if you haven't tried one yet or as you know- remove and add to it as you would like! http://www.4shared.com/file/20133844/e084d336/kb-Seeds-of-today.html . Until tomorrow- Loves and Hugs Kim

Love your LO...its beautiful..as always..and hey dont make fun of the hair..I have some pics of me with my hair about that high..hehe to answer your questions..it didnt take long to tease it up just pick up a wad of hair and go to it..then all you did was comb down the top layer and smooth it all over and spray it stiff with hair spray..heck if you did it good enough it would last a few days.. sleep in one of those boufant hair net thingys..made of satin..and all you had to do was lift it up the next day..hard to comb out though..hehehehe oh those 60's days were the best!!! Thanks for the freebie...love it.. hugs

On the BeeHive hair-do, there was this form you could use to make it even higher, why we did that I'll never understand...LOL I was in 'Beauty School' at the time and it was how I made my best tips, get it as high as possible and use a can of hair spray.

For the long straight look it was rolled on orange juice or veggie cans, with lots of goop very much like okra juice, took forever to dry and it was as stiff as a board but it made the teasing easier.

I never wore beehives, since though I had lots of hair it is baby fine and doesn't hold teasing worth a damn, so I tried for the Cher look, that wasn't good either so I just did the hippie hair. Man this makes me feel so old...LOL

Thanks for the template...

Kim, I really want to use your fabulous template with those special elements to enhance any photoshot. Your page scrap is just awesome with your wonderful photo choice. That behive definitely bring back memories, as we laughed at ourselves. Her photo is just awesome and your decision to leave it as it, reflect the realism of that period and time. That photo has withstood time with grace and elegance. Love the inclusion of the key or element as you used within that fantastic cluster. I am thankful that you decided to pass this on to us after you had completed your beautiful heritage layout. I do not scrap square, but I am hoping that I can adjust without losing the impact of your designs. Leavin LUV! XOXOXO

Thanks so much Kim I've finally had time to stop & read lol. Love your aunt's photo & I think the aging of the photos make them seem all the more real instead of touched up & preserved like a corpse lol. I love love that paper on the background of the layout you should do a tut on how to get your paper nice & shiny like that lol. Thanks!

Fabulous template, Kim. Oh, BTW, I totally remember the Bee Hive doo! My sister and cousin did their hair like that. My hair was never long enough hair to put up. [What were we all thinking!!! hahaha] Love that layout. Thanks so much for sharing.

Surely by now the weekend devil is hiding until Friday the hairdresser won't have any problem. But I'm not sure what would have happened if your appointment would have been on a Friday LOL

The layout is fantastic, the photo with the scratches gives it more character to it, and the way the papers are in the layout makes it very clean. Thanks so much for sharing it with us. :) The hairdo and Jazzy and Ladye explanations make me feel so unfeminine LOL I'm a short hair girl or straighteners one. Don't spend too much time on it, wash and comb is my rule, more than 10 minutes drying it and doing it, is simply too much LOL

The template is awesome, thanks so much for sharing it with us. :)

Best wishes. :O)
