It’s Freedom Day today here in South Africa, Celebrating the first non-racial national elections where everyone no matter what colour/race or religion had the right to place their vote. I remember the day so clearly (27 April 1994) , there was much panic as well as excitement at the changes happening in South Africa at the time. We’ve come a long way since then, with a long way to go too. But I sure am proud to have been apart of that change ;-)
I promised to let you in on a little more of my sister Gaye’s and my relationship- and OH dear Lord she is going to kill me I think- hee hee
We weren’t always close ( as most siblings are) and fought like cat and dogs in our teens. Gaye was the stubborn one, me the joker and well lets just say that sharing a bedroom at the ages of 17 and 18 had it’s drawbacks- lol.
Gaye would throw her toys out the cot about something I left lying around ( which was often- ooops) and I would think it funny and burst out laughing at her- mmmmmmmmm, I learnt that wasn’t a good thing- as WACK, I would get whatever she was holding in her hand over my head ( not softly either- lol). She broke a few hairbrushes over my head while we were teens and sharing a room- BWHAHAHA, I must admit, laughing more did NOT help the matter. lol. Sorry sis, but they were funny times and I still laugh at it. Mom would have the sh-ts and tell us to take it outside and that she would buy us boxing gloves –hahahaha.
But that all changes when we landed up moving out and growing up I suppose. Gaye and I both landed up working in the SAME Advertising house too! She worked in Traffic and I in the design studio. And here we are again- working side by side doing what we love- DESIGNING!
Love you sis and you mean the world to me ;-)

Thank you soo much for sharing your sisterhood to Gaye with us.My sister is four years younger than me.I got married at seventeen..so there isn't a lot of teenage time together.Your story makes me think that may be a good thing.LOL
Thank you so much for the beautiful gifts you share with us.You already know I LOVE them!
Hugs,
Valinda
Love the Sisterhood kit and Congratulations on the digi-anniversary
Broken hairbrushes? Ouch!
But I can't help but laugh at your story. And I hope my two rascals end up just as close as you!
Thank you so much for my surprise! :)
MWAH!
ROFL! I have been found to say that two women beneath the same roof is VERY difficult on a long-term basis and your stories of you and Gaye at the ages of 17 and 18 only help to prove my point! LOL!
Having raised two girls just under two years apart, I can surely attest to the sharing of a room and one being the messy and one being out of sorts when faced with it! You have taken me back sweet lady ... a trip down Memory Lane. *sigh*
Happy Anniversary to you and your precious sister and Happy Freedom Day! I shall only say that here in the USA, we too have a LONG way to go! *wink*
Sisterhood is STUNNING as the two you who are, once again, working side-by-side and SO amazingly and wonderfully well if I might add!
Your layouts are DELICIOUS as are your goodies!
Thank you for sharing with me and I wish you a GLORIOUS week in your LOVELY homeland! MWAH!
Love and huggies,
